A Virginia man has been indicted for making threats against former President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris. Sixty-six-year-old Frank Lucio Carillo of Winchester was arrested earlier this month for alleged threats he made in social media posts and online forums. The indictment released Wednesday shows Carillo is now facing 14 charges, including multiple counts of making an interstate threat to kidnap or injure Harris and Obama. Each count carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison.
Independent candidate Cornel West will not be on the Virginia presidential ballot this fall. The Virginia Department of Elections says West's campaign did not correctly file the forms needed to qualify. State election officials say they are still reviewing applications from three other independent and minor party candidates. Five names have been approved for the presidential ballot, including Republican Donald Trump, Democrat Kamala Harris, independent Robert F. Kennedy, Junior and Green Party nominee Jill Stein.
