Some Richmond residents are worried about their safety after some cars were vandalized. Car windows were smashed last week at the Eddy on the James apartments in Manchester off Semmes Ave. One woman says repairs will cost close to what she pays in rent. Another resident says it's their fourth case of vandalism since they moved in six months ago. No arrests have been announced. One resident tells CBS 6 a lot of young, single women live in the complex, and they don't feel safe now.

A Virginian is celebrating a gold medal in the men's track and field at the Summer Olympics. Noah Lyles was declared the winner of the 100-meter sprint in a photo finish yesterday. He beat Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by five one-thousandths of a second in one of the closest finishes in Olympic history. The 27-year-old is a graduate of Alexandria City High School and he won a bronze medal for the U.S. in the 200 meters in Tokyo.

Scoop dot upworthy dot com reports some comments speculated that it was a palm scanner rather than a chip, raising concerns about security and privacy. Despite mixed reactions, the concept of using chip implants for daily tasks like payments and door unlocking is gaining traction and has been touted as the future by some people for years.
