Dominion Energy and Appalachian Power say they are prepared to handle outages and other problems caused by Tropical Storm Debby. The two utilities have told employees they could be in for long hours over the next few days and to be ready to respond as needed. The two utilities are also warning customers to be prepared by having emergency supplies like candles, flashlights, water and food ready. Customers are also being told to have their phones fully charged so they can call in outages when they happen.

A Hopewell teenager is being remembered as the most loving, caring little boy you'll ever meet. That's what Hopewell High School student Erin Edmonds said yesterday at a vigil for Jayvion Taylor. Students, staff and relatives gathered at the high school gym to honor the 15-year-old who died Monday after collapsing during football practice. HHS head coach Ricky Irby tells 12 On Your Side he wants the family to know Jayvion's legacy will live forever.  
 
 
Vaccine skepticism is rising in the U.S. According to a Gallup poll, fewer American adults say it's important to get children vaccinated today than in recent years. Just 40-percent of respondents said it's "extremely important" for parents to get their kids' shots, compared to 58-percent who said the same in 2019. Americans are also now much less likely to say the government should require kids to be vaccinated -- down from 62-percent in 2019 to 51-percent now.
