Two men are hurt after shootings in Richmond. Both shootings happened yesterday in the Southside. The more recent one was last night. A man was found shot on Richmond Highway, but police believe he was shot somewhere else. It happened about five hours after a shooting on East 37th Street. There's no word on their conditions, but police say their injuries are life-threatening. Investigators tell 8News they don't believe the shootings are connected.

At a one-percent rate, it could generate 33-million dollars, while the maximum six-percent rate would bring in 198-million. Workers expressed concerns about the tax's potential impact on their livelihoods and lower-income residents who rely on prepared foods. The Board of Supervisors is considering the proposal.
The FBI and U.S. Postal Service are investigating mail containing a white powder sent to election offices in at least 17 states. A law enforcement source tells ABC News that at this point, none of the packages were believed to be hazardous but some offices were evacuated because of the scare. In one instance, the substance ended up being flour.
