Ten members of an alleged southwest Virginia drug distribution ring have been arrested by federal investigators. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Virginia announced the arrests yesterday. The ten suspects were charged after an investigation of meth and fentanyl distribution in Wise County between 2021 and 2024. Credit for the arrests was shared by multiple agencies, including the ATF, the U.S. Marshals Service, and several law enforcement departments in western Virginia and eastern Kentucky.
Parents in Petersburg are getting a chance to influence what their kids eat at school. The district announced yesterday it's holding School Nutrition Community Feedback Sessions. This comes after parents raised concerns on social media about the meals. Superintendent Yolanda Brown says the presentation of the meals shown in the photos was unacceptable. Three sessions have been scheduled. The first is set for next Tuesday at 6:00 at Petersburg High School.
There's good news to report in the search for a missing teenager from Goochland County. Henrico Police announced yesterday that 15-year-old Alaina Hendricks was found safe in Richmond. No details were released.
