Police are investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash in Lynchburg. First responders were called to U.S. 460 East near Campbell Avenue early yesterday after a crash that left one vehicle on its side. The driver of that vehicle, 36-year-old Jose Federico Ramos Alvarez, died after being taken to the hospital. The two people in the other vehicle were also taken to the hospital but are expected to recover.
VCU students are upset with new policies they say restrict their free speech rights. Students for Justice in Palestine staged a walkout yesterday. They're protesting policies that require those with a facemask or hood to show their IDs, and a ban on drawing with chalk on a walkway known as The Compass. Protest organizer Sereen Haddad tells 12 On Your Side chalking is one of the most peaceful forms of expression anyone could do. Her group has been protesting for months over the war between Israel and Hamas.
