Two Virginia state troopers are recovering after crashing during a pursuit through Augusta and Albermarle counties. The chase began in Augusta County on Friday when troopers tried to pull over a vehicle on Interstate 81 North. The driver refused to stop and eventually led law enforcement into Albermarle County on Interstate 64. The suspect vehicle ran into spike strips placed on the roadway and crashed, while a trooper also crashed due to debris on the roadway. The driver was arrested after trying to run from the crash scene.
The next Virginia gubernatorial election could be historic.Preview: Shenandoah National Park will hold an event later this month celebrating art and artists connected to the park. The event will be held from September 27th through the 29th. Artists will hold demonstrations and workshops throughout the weekend at several locations in the park. A new national poll shows a virtual tie in the race for the White House just ahead of Tuesday's presidential debate. The poll released Sunday by The New York Times and Sienna College gives former President Trump a one-point lead, 48-47 percent over Vice President Harris. The survey noted that's well within its margin of error, meaning the November election could go either way.
