The water crisis is leading to change in Richmond. The city announced yesterday April Bingham resigned as Department of Public Utilities director. Anthony 'Scott' Morris was named interim director. He's a Navy veteran, a professional engineer with a Masters from VCU, and he's the Director of Water for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. Morris says he looks forward to working with the team to support the delivery of essential utility services to Richmonders.

A Richmond rabbi hopes the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas leads to a long-lasting peace. Keneseth Beth Israel Rabbi Dovid [[DUVV-id]] Asher talked yesterday after the ceasefire deal was announced. It calls for hostages held by Hamas to be released. Asher is glad families will be reunited, and the freed hostages can begin the rehabilitation process. He tells CBS 6 he hopes we can move to a point where all people of good conscience are working towards peace and listening to each other.

A local Palestinian activist has mixed emotions about the ceasefire. VCU's Sereen Haddad leads Students for Justice in Palestine. She says she's ecstatic but also heartbroken because she can't help but think about those that have been lost in the violence. Haddad tells 8News there's so much left to do, but she doesn't expect President-Elect Trump to make the situation better.
