A Richmond man is lucky to have avoided a deadly incident while on vacation. David Stein was in New Orleans with his wife and two friends to celebrate New Year's Eve. They were hanging out on Bourbon Street but decided to head back to the hotel around quarter-of-three yesterday morning. Just 15 minutes later, tragedy struck when a man drove his pickup truck into a crowd and killed over a dozen people. Stein could hear the sirens from the hotel, and he says he knew something bad had happened, but he didn't know what until he woke up later that morning. He realizes how lucky he and his wife and friends were to have left when they did. Stein also tells 12 On Your Side he gets emotional seeing a city he loves hurting so bad right now.
