An arrest in Hanover County could bring an end to a string of burglaries at local fire stations. Sgt. Steven Wills says deputies arrested two men and a teenager yesterday after three cars were broken into at Fire Station Number 4 in Doswell on Washington Highway.

Firefighters across Central Virginia have been reporting for about two months that thieves are stealing items from their personal cars while they're at work.

Investigators say they're working to see if those arrested yesterday are tied to the other thefts.  
 
 
The state is criticizing Richmond after the city's recent water emergency. The Virginia Department of Health issued an Initial Notice of Alleged Violation to the city yesterday. The VDH says the city could have prevented the crisis with better preparation and by ensuring sufficient staffing was physically present at the water treatment plant. The state says it also seeks the city's commitment to work together to prevent another water crisis. The city has 30 days to respond
