Four businesses are damaged after a fire in Richmond. The three-alarm fire started yesterday morning on the Northside on 3rd Ave in a building where the businesses are located. Fire officials say no one was inside, and no one was hurt. There's no estimate on the damages and no word on a cause.
Separate efforts are announced to improve animal sheltering in Danville. The Caesars Virginia in Danville is planning to start welcoming guests in December. The 750-million-dollar development is about an hour outside the Triangle and about 40 miles from the Piedmont Triad region. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians says the facility will have 14-hundred slot machines, more than 80 live table games and an entertainment venue. Caesars is planning to fill around seven-hundred jobs to help run the operation.
It's on to the playoffs for the Richmond Kickers. They wrapped the regular season Saturday night with a one-nothing home loss to Charlotte.
