A judge will hear arguments between immigrant rights groups and state officials Thursday.Preview: The second YMCA location in Martinsville will be named after the family who donated the money to make it a reality. Entrepreneur George Lester II has donated $2.5 million towards the construction of the proposed Lester Family YMCA. This donation follows a $12 million contribution from the Harvest Foundation towards the facility's funding phase. The Cardinal News reports the new YMCA is part of a $28 million project and is set to break ground in 2026 with completion expected in 2028.
Richmond organizations are getting a head start on helping kids for the holidays. The Richmond Area Bicycling Association received kits this week to assemble 450 bikes that will go out to children this Christmas. Local Christmas Mother organizations and the Weinstein Jewish Community Center are a couple of organizations that will help distribute the bikes this December.
