The University of Virginia is set to honor three football players who were killed during a campus shooting in 2022. Bells at the university's chapel will toll at 1:55 p.m. tomorrow to honor Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis, Junior, and D'Sean Perry. The chapel plans to play the first verse of "Amazing Grace," followed by three chimes honoring the players. The players were returning from a field trip when they were allegedly shot on a bus by a fellow student and former football player. Christopher Darnell Jones will be tried in January on multiple charges connected to the shooting.

There's a new way to honor veterans in Goochland County. The county announced yesterday it's launching the Goochland Veterans Military Tribute Banner Program. It's designed to honor local veterans, active-duty service members, reservists and those in the National Guard. The honorees will be featured on a full-color banner with their photo, name and military details. The banners will be displayed next year from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. The program is free to veterans' families, and the deadline for submissions is April 30th, 2025. The county says the banners will offer residents an opportunity to say 'thank you' to those who have given so much for our country. You can find out more at GoochlandVA.us.
