Doctors warn of a potential Medicare fraud scheme involving unnecessary genetic test kits that is making the rounds in the Hampton Roads region. Dr. Anne Redding tells WAVY she got suspicious when she saw requests for her to authorize DNA tests for a few of her patients - tests she didn't order. She says she researched the Reliable Results Lab, LLC and found articles about doctors, civilians and the co-owners of the lab being indicted on Medicare and Medicaid fraud charges.Preview: Fraudsters send the test and when the patient returns it to the lab, the lab requests the doctor to authorize Medicare to pay for it. If you receive a test kit in the mail, contact your doctor and the police, if it was not requested by your physician.
A search is underway to find a missing Henrico County boy. Police say 12-year-old ZyMaurion Jalib is missing and endangered. He was last seen running into the woods near the intersection of Flippin Court and Laurel Village Drive. Police described him as 4-foot-11, about 100 pounds, light-skinned Black and short black hair. ZyMaurion was last seen wearing a short-sleeved blue collared button-up shirt with a white t-shirt underneath, blue jeans and white shoes.
A unique event in Henrico County gives a chance to put the rigors of the Richmond Marathon behind them. The annual T-Rex run was held yesterday. Over a hundred people gathered in inflatable T-Rex suits to run about half-a-mile around the lake in Dorey Park. 8News reports it takes place the day after the marathon as a fun way for participants to recover from the race.
A new ridehsare service that's expanding into Texas is being described as Uber but with guns. It's called BlackWolf, and all the drivers will have military or security backgrounds.Preview: Founder Kerry King-Brown says that protection comes with a price.
