A Virginia Beach man will spend a few months in jail after a failed attempt to bribe a police officer to forget about arresting him. Twenty-year-old Brayden Luckenbill was taken into custody in August after he fired a gun into the air during an argument. On the way to the jail, Luckenbill asked the officer if he would make the charges go away in exchange for 20 dollars. He took a plea deal earlier this month after being charged with abduction, shooting in a public place and attempted bribery. A judge decided Wednesday to give Luckenbill three months in jail while suspending the rest of his three-year sentence.

The Dunbar High School football team is celebrating after winning the 54th edition of the D.C. Turkey Bowl. Dunbar beat Coolidge 35-21 yesterday to become the champions of the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association for the second year in a row. The game was a bit emotional for the Coolidge players, coaches and fans following the sudden death of assistant coach Darnell Dailey last week. Coolidge head coach Kevin Nesbitt called Dailey "the glue of the organization" and said he would have wanted the team to keep fighting following his death. It was Dunbar's 13th Turkey Bowl win.
