A man found guilty of killing two sisters after they disappeared in 1975 is returning to Virginia to serve his sentence. Authorities in Delaware say Lloyd Lee Welch will complete his current prison sentence later this month and will then be transferred to a Virginia prison. Welch was convicted of killing ten-year-old Katherine Lyon and 12-year-old Shelia Lyon in 2017. He reportedly confessed to burning the body of at least one of the sisters on Taylor's Mountain in Bedford County shortly after they disappeared. The 68-year-old man will begin serving two 48-year prison sentences when he is transferred to Virginia.

The GOP nominee will face Democrat Jack Trammell in the solidly Republican 10th District. The mass meeting to select the Republican candidate is scheduled for Friday at the Goochland Sports Complex.
