A lawsuit filed over the hazing death of a VCU student is settled. Adam Oakes' family sued the National Delta Chi Fraternity and 11 members after their son died three years ago while pledging the frat at VCU. Oakes was a 19-year-old freshman. A New York man could get prison time for forcing a flight to divert to Richmond International Airport. Federal prosecutors announced yesterday that James Ford pled guilty yesterday to interfering with a flight crew. The charge dates back to last year when the 31-year-old boarded a flight from Puerto Rico to New York while he was drunk. Prosecutors say he harassed and threatened flight attendants and forced the pilot to land at RIC so Ford could be removed from the plane. He'll be sentenced in April, and he could get 20 years in prison.
