Governor Glenn Youngkin has declared a state of emergency in Virginia ahead of expected wintry weather.Preview: Work is underway getting Central Virginia ready for the snowstorm. VDOT crews will be out today treating the roads with a salt-water brine solution. Snow is expected to arrive tomorrow morning. VDOT asks that you stay off the roads once the snow starts. The National Weather Service is expecting up to five inches in the area.
A disturbance at a juvenile correction center in Chesterfield County is under investigation. VSP responded to the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center yesterday afternoon. No details were released on what the disturbance was, but no injuries were reported. There was also a fire, but Chesterfield County Fire and EMS reports it was put out quickly. VSP and the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice are investigating, and charges are pending.
