A Virginia Beach inmate is being charged with committing credit card fraud while behind bars. The Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office says Kareem Walter Ryer conspired with an accomplice to steal credit card information to place orders through the Virginia Beach Correctional Center canteen. Investigators say Ryer placed the orders using the names of other inmates and would then resell them for a higher price. He reportedly wanted to use some of the money to help post his 100-thousand-dollar bond. He's been charged with multiple counts of forgery, identity fraud and obtaining money under false pretenses.
