Students at Covington Middle School are set to return to in-person learning next week after a carbon monoxide leak in January led to an evacuation. Parents and faculty are demanding answers and accountability for the incident, with concerns about the accuracy of the school's reports and lack of communication. The school did not have carbon monoxide detectors despite legal requirements, leading to calls for accountability and improved safety measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. WCBJ reports in-person classes are set to begin again next Tuesday.  
 
 
A man best known for sports books like "A Season on the Brink" has died. DMV native John Feinstein passed away yesterday in McLean. The former Washington Post sportswriter wrote more than 40 books, including a series of fictional sports stories for young adults. He was 69-years-old.  
 
 
There appears to be a split in the Democratic Party over the GOP funding bill. House Democrats voted almost unanimously against the stopgap government funding bill, and are reportedly in a "complete meltdown" after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said he would support the bill ahead of tonight's deadline to avoid a government shutdown. A senior House Democrat told Axios that "people are furious" and are considering protesting on the Senate floor.
