School bus drivers may lose out under a new policy proposed in Richmond Public Schools. A recent audit found the district was paying school bus drivers almost two million dollars in unnecessary overtime. The audit found the district pays drivers two hours of overtime for all activities outside regular school hours. Instead, auditors recommend the district only pay the drivers for actual hours worked. School officials haven't acted on the proposal yet. A rep for the bus drivers' union says changing the policy will cause financial hardship for drivers and their families. He also tells 12 On Your Side the union may decide to fight the new policy in court.

A sprinter for Norfolk State University is upset with the decision to exclude him from this week's U.S. Olympic Trials. Kai Cole ran a time of 10-point-zero-five in the 100-meters at the MEAC Championships in May. That time is below the qualifying standard for the Olympic Trials, but U.S. Track and Field officials told him earlier this month that the MEAC meet was not sanctioned by their organization. Cole said his final appeal was denied in a social media post yesterday. He blamed the university for not fully supporting his effort to get the ruling overturned.
