A Virginia teen is dead after a shooting in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Sixteen-year-old Jakolbi Taylor of Roanoke was identified as the shooting victim following an autopsy. Police say the shooting happened early Saturday morning as Taylor was visiting the area with friends and family. Taylor was a student at Patrick Henry High School, and school district officials are offering resources to students and staff members affected by the shooting. Police say Taylor's death is still under investigation.
A Richmond woman who lost her son and husband in a deadly shooting is suing several school officials.Preview: Lynchburg Animal Control seized 15 dogs and a pet bird from a home in deplorable conditions. The animals were taken to the Lynchburg Humane Society for evaluation. WDBJ reports the property was condemned by city inspectors due to its hazardous state. Officials say 54 year old Ashley Elizabeth Owen was charged with five counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty following a civil seizure hearing.
