Democratic Congressman Bobby Scott is hosting a forum in Norfolk to discuss the economic accomplishments of the Biden-Harris administration. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are set to release their economic plans this week. 13NewsNow reports Scott accuses congressional Republicans of complaining about inflation without offering solutions, while touting the effectiveness of Democratic initiatives like the child tax credit and reducing drug prices. Some critics point out that the current administration simply took away Trump-era policies, like the capping of insulin prices in May of 2020, before then putting them back in place and claiming them as their own. The town hall will take place at Richard Bowling Elementary School in Norfolk at 6:30 p.m.

Some Hanover County residents aren't happy with one of their neighbors. A Wegmans Distribution Center opened a few years ago in the Brown Grove Community. Neighbors met yesterday morning at Brown Grove Baptist Church with the Hanover NAACP to discuss their concerns. The facility is open 24/7, and one woman says bright lights shine into her home around the clock. She and others are also worried about the constant truck traffic. Last month, an 18-wheeler flipped and landed in someone's yard. Residents have filed a lawsuit claiming it was illegal to allow the facility to be built. Renada Harris is president of the Brown Grove Preservation Group. She tells 12 On Your Side we're not against progress, but it must be done responsibly and with respect to the community it affects.
