Chesterfield County Fair officials are grateful for the way police responded to a night of violence. Several fights were reported at the fair on Saturday. Four people were arrested, including three teenagers. Thirteen people were treated for injuries, mostly for pepper spray exposure. The fair closed early Saturday night as a result. GM Brenda White Vaughn says it's disappointing that a fun family event would be ruined by people who want to cause havoc. WRIC reports the campaign combines public safety messaging and enforcement efforts to emphasize the dangers of driving under the influence. Research shows that men aged 21 to 35 are most likely to drive drunk. Since the campaign's inception, alcohol-related crashes have decreased by 38%, deaths by 23%, and injuries by half.
