The Smyth [[smith]] County school board calls for the resignation of the vice chairman amid federal child exploitation allegations. The board released a statement expressing shock and outrage at the allegations and emphasized that Todd Williams should not remain in his position of trust. While the board does not have the authority to remove Williams, the Cardinal News reports the board members are asking for Williams' resignation to uphold the integrity of the school board and the community. Williams, who is currently in jail pending a preliminary hearing, is accused of enticing young boys to send him nude images and sexually explicit videos.  
 
 
There's new leadership coming to one Virginia elections office. Roanoke's Director of Elections, Andrew Cochran, is retiring after 11 years in the position, during which he oversaw significant changes in election law and the expansion of early voting. Nicholas Ocampo will take over as the new leader of the Office of Voter Registration & Elections, with plans to heavily staff for a high-turnout election. WDBJ reports Ocampo has been working with Cochran for five weeks and is confident in the office's readiness for upcoming elections. Electoral Board Chair Charles Shell expressed confidence in Ocampo's ability to seamlessly transition into the role.
