The renovations come after seniors in the Stonewall Place building suffered from a malfunctioning HVAC system in July 2024. While residents appreciate the effort, some believe more attention is needed in other areas like infrastructure and water leaks. CEO Steven Nesmith acknowledges to 8 News the importance of providing decent and safe living conditions for seniors and aims to complete the renovations by the end of 2025.

The race is a fundraiser for an organization named in her honor, the CKG Foundation. Its goal is to help teens dealing with anxiety and depression. Emma Crone was a friend of Cameron's, and she says she looked up to her like a big sister. She tells CBS 6 being able to carry on Cameron's message means a lot to her.
Texas researchers say they have discovered an antibody that would protect against all variants of COVID-19. Researchers at UT Austin say they found an antibody that's able to neutralize all known strains of the virus. They say the next step is to get the antibody used in large scale manufacturing for future treatments.
