Two flu-related deaths have been reported in Virginia. The Virginia Department of Health say the two deaths are children between the ages of five and 17. The VDH recommends all children ages six months and up receive an annual flu vaccine. They also recommend washing hands often, cover coughs and sneezes with the inside of your elbow, and staying home and away from others if you are sick. The VDH says only 30-percent of eligible Virginians have received their annual flu shot this season. Levels of respiratory illnesses in the state remain moderate.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) says they will be accepting state-issued digital IDs. Virginians can now download and enroll in the Virginia Mobile ID app with their smart phone. When traveling through airport security, those enrolled will now be able to use digital ID readers throughout various airports across the county. TSA says more than 230 airports participate in the program. The goal is to give travelers a more convenient method of showing valid ID to TSA security officers.
