A Bedford daycare employee has been arrested in connection to a child abuse investigation after reports of a five-month-old child sustaining a broken arm while at daycare. The investigation involved reviewing video footage and conducting interviews with multiple victims, with incidents occurring between November 12 and November 26, 2024. Officials say 36 year old, Kellie Nicole Daflucas was arrested on three felony warrants related to reckless care for a child. WFXR reports that no other daycare employee was charged, and the name of the facility has not been disclosed.  
 
Several Virginians are still in the dark after a winter storm took out the power earlier this week. In Franklin County, Redwood United Methodist Church is hosting a warming shelter, with church member Cindy Rose took advantage of the offer after losing power Monday morning.

He adds that they could use some donated hand and foot warmers and they are always grateful for donations of food or money. The Franklin County Family YMCA is also open to non-members to get warmed up, charge your electronics, and grab a hot shower.  
 
An Ashburn man may have given his aunt the best gift possible during the holidays. Miran Smith gave his aunt Geraldine a Virginia New Year's Millionaire Raffle ticket before the January 1st drawing. When they checked the ticket last week they discovered it was worth a million dollars. Smith's aunt decided she would split the jackpot with her nephew.
