The College Board says the cost of in-state college tuition in Virginia is more than 15-thousand dollars for the next school year. And while that marks a seven-percent drop from 2019, it's still above the national average of more than eleven-thousand. The report finds that salaries are not keeping up with inflation, which is causing students in Virginia to likely tighten their belts and make certain choices when deciding which college to go to. And Virginians have also been found to have the fourth-highest amount of student loan debt per borrower in the country.
Hanover County Public Schools has suspended the baseball program at Hanover High School following reports of misconduct. The suspension, effective immediately, includes all varsity and junior varsity baseball activities. WRIC reports that the school division is investigating the allegations but is prohibited from sharing specific details.
