A Farmville woman has pled guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud for her involvement in a scheme to cash a stolen check for nearly $468,000. The woman set up a fake company and bank account to deposit the stolen check. She then depleted the funds through various financial transactions, including transferring $65,000 to her personal account. WRIC reports that the woman faces up to 30 years in prison and is scheduled to be sentenced in March 2025.  
 
County officials in Virginia are considering getting involved after several senior citizens report ongoing issues with phone service. Rebecca Hughes with more.

The president of Newport News Shipbuilding has announced she's retiring. Jennifer Boykins made the announcement yesterday. Boykins has been with Newport News Shipbuilding for the past 37 years. NNS helps oversee more than 26-thousand shipbuilders to build ships, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines. Kari Wilkinson has been appointed to serve as the new NNS president beginning on January 1rst.
