Heavy snow and ice has been predicted for much of Virginia, with the highest snow accumulations expected in the northern region of the state.  
 
A new report finds more than 50-thousand people have made Virginia their home since the pandemic. Data from the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service show that since 2020, more than 52-thousand people have moved to the Richmond area. The Chesterfield area has seen the highest number of population growth with an estimated 30-thousand new residents from April 2020 to July 2024. Henrico showed an increase of more than 11-thousand residents. Richmond saw an increase of more than 6-thousand, and Hanover saw an increase of more than 45-hundred.
