The Road Shark initiative is coming back to Virginia to help drivers change their driving habits. The Fairfax County Police Department and Virginia State Police will be working together on enforcement through August. The program aims to help make Virginia roads safer by outreach, public education, and high visibility enforcement. The initiative says this month officers will focus on impaired driving, and next month will be focused on distracted driving. The initiative handed out over 34-thousand tickets and warnings during last year's five week campaign.
