The state of Virginia is seeing its fifth pediatric flu-related death this season. The Virginia Department of Health says a fifth child has died as of March 29th. The state is seeing a decrease in the number of ER visits for respiratory illnesses. The majority of the Commonwealth is currently in the low category for respiratory illnesses, but the central part of the state remains in the moderate category. The VDH recommends continuing to wash hands, cough or sneeze into elbows, and staying up to date with vaccinations.
