A local Norfolk stage company says it may not survive after recent cuts to their funding. Norfolk's Virginia Stage Company says a 15-thousand dollar grant from the National Endowment for the Arts that was previously approved has been rescinded. This funding cut is one of many affecting several arts groups across the nation. The stage company says the grant was going to help support a production called Every Brilliant Thing, which subject matter deals with mental health and suicide prevention. The company says this marks the first time funding has been cut due to a political agenda and warn that future productions are at jeopardy. The company has been around since 1978.
