Emporia city leaders say they're doing everything they can to help workers laid off from the Georgia-Pacific plant. More than 500 people were laid off this week after the plant announced it would be closing in July. Employees say they were blindsided by the abrupt closure as the product they create had high demand and the facility just hired around 25 employees. Virginia Career Works says a job fair will be held tomorrow with nearly 30 companies ready to meet with job seekers.
