Governor Youngkin has visited Southwest Virginia to view areas impacted by Helene. The governor toured Giles County over the weekend as well as other areas that suffered flooding and damage. Officials say more than 70 rescues were made throughout the state as it experienced flooding. They are advising residents to still be on alert as additional storms are still moving through the area. President Biden has approved an emergency declaration for the state allowing federal aid to be sent to Virginia as it recovers.  
 
With cooling weather, and activities soon moving in doors, Health Experts in Virginia are now suggesting its time to get your flu shot. Thomas Cage explains where you can get yours.

Local broadcast legend and horror show host Bill Bowman, known as "The Bowman Body," passed away on Sunday. Bowman hosted the late-night horror show "Shock Theatre" on Channel 8, WRIC in the 1970s, gaining a cult following with his quirky humor and catchphrase, "Hi there horror movie fans!". Bowman's show was so popular that it even surpassed Johnny Carson in ratings on Friday nights. WRIC reports a memorial service is being organized for Bowman in Virginia.
