Dean Kremer had a rough day at the office as the Orioles lost 9-2 to the Chicago Cubs at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The Orioles' starter allowed seven runs, five earned, in four innings of work to fall to 4-and-5 on the season. Jordan Westburg hit a solo home run in the loss. Baltimore has lost two of its last three games. Game Two of the series is tonight in Baltimore.
Orioles third baseman Jordan Westburg is an All-Star after all. He will be replacing injured Red Sox star Rafael Devers on the American League roster.
The Nationals fell 7-5 to the New York Mets despite a ninth-inning rally. Washington entered the ninth down 7-2. The Nats scored three runs but were unable to complete the comeback. The Nationals have lost three games in a row. Game Two of the series is tonight in Queens.
